Elaine spent her entire life working in the Human Service field helping all those she encountered along the way. Her love for Warren and his family, along with the love for her own family was endless. She was beautiful, fashionable and had the most energetic personality. Elaine was the light in every room she walked into. She was born July 20, 1960, in Gloversville, the daughter of Leo and Carol (Compani) Visconti.

Now, another Fremonter, Jim Weaver, has told Emerson’s story in a book that uses that tribute as its title, “The World’s Greatest Marksman.” Guy Hufford Emerson was trumpeted as “The World’s Greatest Marksman.”
Having achieved something that no other person had achieved, sharpshooter Capt. One hundred years ago, a Fremont man was declared the best in the world.
